Coastal Path Creations’ handmade nursing necklaces are designed for Mums, Dads (yes – there are some Daddy-friendly designs!) and Caregivers. They make fantastic fashion accessories and are great for when babies reach the ‘grabby, pinching, fiddling’ stage. They provide function, style and are very practical. The components used to make our jewellery are tested by an independent UKAS test house for compliance to EN71-3. Strength testing is carried out in house.
Each necklace is designed to:
- Distract babies and toddlers from fiddling, pinching and scratching whilst feeding, being worn, or being carried.
- Appeal to babies senses, particularly vision and touch, and give them something to focus on.
- Aid with teething (the Chewy Range)
Our design-your-own section is currently being built. If you would like a custom slot for a different design, please contact us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Facebook.
Some of the beads we have available are:
The Wooden Ring Range
Named after planets, these nursing necklaces uses brilliantly smooth wooden teething rings from a sustainable source in the EU. The rings are tested to EN71-3 baby toys safety standard. There are no chemicals, dyes, solvents or artificial additives used in the crafting process. Each ring is sanded by hand to create a smooth finish which is safe for little ones to chomp on! We sell the wooden rings individually and in packs of 3 and 5, in the ‘Teethers’ section of the shop.
The Crochet Range
Lakes and rivers were the inspiration for naming these nursing / babywearing necklaces. Crochet necklaces were our first line of products, and they have proven to be very popular. The beads are hand crocheted in the EU using 100% cotton cord and are dyed using Dystar dyes (OEKO-TEX® class 1 certified). Babies love the texture of the crochet range, and there are plenty of colours to choose from! These necklaces feature an adjustable slip knot.
The Chewy Range
These teething necklaces are named after American States. Each style is available in a range of vibrant colours, designed to capture your little ones’ attention and stimulate the senses. The material used is BPA/PVC free silicone, which is also free from Phthalates. It is a soft, gummy silicone and is same material used in many bottle teats, dummies and teethers. It is easy to clean, stylish and very functional!
These necklaces feature breakaway clasps. The length can be adjusted by moving the clasp off the knot, retying to the desired length, (re-checking the length!), then cutting off the excess cord.
*Chewy Bangles measure 63mm inside diameter*
Juniper Wood Necklaces
The juniper beads we use come from Ukraine and are made from carpathian juniper. Juniper has a beautiful aroma and antibacterial properties. All of the beads are handmade and therefore the sizes, shapes, colours and patterns may vary. For ‘hardcore teething toddlers’ we suggest steering away from this range as the wood is softer than some of the other materials we use.
Our wooden pendants are sourced from the EU and are made from solid beech wood. After being hand sanded until very smooth, they are coated in organic flax seed oil. The sizes are as follows:
Birds: 6 x 6 x 1.5cm. Flowers: 6 x 6 x 1.6cm. Shells: 6.5 x 6 x 1.5cm. Stars: 6.5 x 6.5 x 1.5cm.
Our wooden teethers are handcrafted from Ash hardwood, for us in the EU. All of the edges are rounded over, sanded smooth, and covered with linseed oil. They come packaged in individual linen drawstring bags, making them ideal gifts. The properties of the wood used make them naturally anti-bacterial, non-allergenic, and non-toxic. Due to the nature of wood, the grain will vary from product to product.
Our wooden Breastfeeding and Babywearing symbol keyrings are an exciting addition to our range at Coastal Path Creations. They are made from wood and engraved using a laser. These keyrings make great gifts and are also a great way to celebrate your breastfeeding/babywearing journey. The breastfeeding milestone trolley tokens are not only a wonderful momento, but are also functional.
Baltic Amber Jewellery
Amber is a fossilized resin, formed over thousands of years through breaks in trees. Baltic amber, in particular raw baltic amber, has some of the highest concentrations of succinic acid found in nature. It is this succinic acid that provides amber with healing, immunity enhancing, anti-inflammatory, stress and pain relief properties. When this amber is worn close to the skin, the warmth that is created helps to release succinic acid, which can then be absorbed into our bloodstream.
All of our amber necklaces and anklets are made by our supplier in Lithuania. They are all unique, so the bead shape/size will vary very slightly. They are all the same shade of colour as the photo. All of the amber jewellery we stock is made from genuine, certified baltic amber, so you can be sure that you are buying the ‘real deal’.
EU Toy safety regulations EN-71-1 state that necklaces are not suitable for children under 36 months. Amber is NOT a toy and should NOT be put in the mouth. Always supervise your child whilst they are wearing their anklet. Do not leave your child unattended and do not allow them to chew on the necklace.
These are made from glass crackle beads and are available in a range of colours. They are designed to help breastfeeding Mums to keep track of feeds and remember which breast to feed from next. They are unsuitable for chewing.
